The colour of this 'Campo al fico' is red granate and limpid. The wine is medium intense, and brings flavours of black peppar, dark fruits and vanilla, which creates a complex impression in the nose. A structured and complex taste in the mouth, with an intensity which lasts for a long time, a full-bodied wine. The tannins are soft and elegant.
The winemaker Stefano Granata has set 7900 plants per hectar, and he let's the wine mature in french oak barrels for 14 months. The pruning system is Spurred and Double Spurred Cordon. Average yield is 5500 kg of grapes per hectar. The production of 'Campo al fico' is around 12000 bottles.
For a dinner you could with pleasure choose white meat, for exampel turkey and chicken, preferably fried in the pan. A mixed salad drowned with olive oil works surprisingly well with this wine.
With Socrates and Plato in mind, I would like to say that with this wine you can also have it on it's own, and let your filosophic thoughts fly very far, and hopefully come back again.
My kindest regards,
