Il Frappato has a limpid almost cristal clear ruby red presence. It's quite consistent, with it's fairly quick tears and legs of medium size. It flows fairly lightly into the glass.
In the nose the odorous sensations are quite intense, with fairly perceivable scent. It's mostly about dark fruit, frank (mirillo), red fruits, frank (cherry, strawberry, raspberry) and red flowers (red roses). The range of odorous nuances are to limited to say the wine is quite complex, therefore I call it scarcely complex, but the odorous nuances Il Frappato has, makes a good job though, with some elegance.
When I tasted it I felt quite intense a dry, medium warm, quite soft, quite fresh, scarcely tannic, and scarcely tasty wine (the perception of minerals is weak). I felt most red fruits like prawns and cherry, a spice like balsamic vinegar, and minerals like graphite.
Il Frappato has a good structure and is quite balanced, the roughness slightly prevails over the softness. The duration of the taste-olfactory sensations are between 4-7 seconds, quite persistent. The wine has some taste-olfactory qualities, a fair balance with a pleasant final taste.
Il Frappato is harmonius for beeing so young.
To lunch or dinner I would recommend pasta with pork meat, chicken or turkey. Pasta with sweet vegetables like zucchini, or some mushrooms. Tuna fish and some sushi could be great with this wine. Some younger cheeses, relative soft and "sweet". It could be worth try it with a dry dessert, like Chocolate Almond Biscotti, which is very popular in Sicily.
Recommended serving temperature for Il Frappato: 14-15 degrees.
