Orvieto Classico Secco
NOME VINO: Orvieto Classico Secco 2008
PRODUTTORE: Al Vecchio frantoio F.lli Bartolomei S.a.s.
ZONA: Umbria - Italia
VALUTAZIONE: @ @ @ @ @
For four generations the Bartolomei family has made some real good olive oil on the hills around Montecchio, situated between Terni and Orvieto in the green hills of Umbria region. The Bartolomei's has made a very interesting olive oil museum, which is very well worth a visit.

This Orvieto Classico has a wonderful discrete straw yellow colour, limpid! Quite consistent.

It's a fresh dry wine, with lot's of white-yellow flowers and newly-cut grass in the nose, quite intense.

The variety of grapes makes it quite complex regarding the flavours, and it has a good structure with relative (quite) long persistence. Green apples are the first impression which comes to my mind, followed by some lime, minerals and salt at the end, quite tasty!

This wine is mature, hamonius, ready to go, no time to wait anymore.

I would have this Orvieto Classico to second courses like fish, not to heavy and fat though. For example, I had ravioli filled up with spinace and ricotta cheese, covered with tunafish and some garlic. A plate of seafood would good! It wouldn't be bad to try some light spicy white meat with this wine, you would be surprised.

Thanks,
Leif
