The family Weber-Saglam makes a good collection of wines and olive oil, combined with some good dinners for there agriturismo guests. The property is about 30 hectares all and all.
This red tuscan has an interesting classic old blend of Sangiovese, canaiolo and colorino. The ageing has been done one year in big old oak barrels, and three months on bottle, before sale.
It's a limpid ruby red wine, with shades of orange color. Its quite consistent in it's consistence.
In the nose its almost quite intense, with red flowers, dark chocolate, wet soil and leafs, cherries. Quite complex in the nose, fine impressions after several inhalings.
Zipping this 'Rosso Toscano' tells me it's more than quite intense, with strawberry and dark fruits (frutta del bosco). It's dry, almost quite tannic, and has a good structure. A harmonius wine! Mature, ready to drink, it has reached its peak.
I had this 'Vinia di Fondo' to a dish with meatballs, onion, broccoli and pasta with truffle, excellent!
Recommended serving temperature is 18 celsius degrees.
It's good, close to very good!
