The wine maker Giuliano Coccia has the fermentation done in cement tanks, and for ageing this Riserva he let it spend 8 months in the barrique. Giuliano took over a part of the business in 1985 from his father and uncle, who started it in 1962. They were five brothers who divided the bigger property (Borgo di Castellinuzza) in 1985, so today you will find more than one Castellinuzza winery in this area.
It's a very elegant well balanced garnet red wine, with lots of cherry, black currant, prunes and pepper mint at the end. The tannins are there, helping you out with the food, without kicking your tongue too hard.
I would recommend some classic pappardelle pasta with sauce of wild boar meat, enjoy!
