NOME VINO: Valdobbiadene Millesimato Dry, Prosecco DOCG Spumante Superiore 2018 PRODUTTORE: Riva de Milan Az. Agr. ZONA: Veneto - Italia
The winery Riva de Milan just outside Valdobbiadene are now at the 5th generation of the Bernardi family, it all started in 1882. Nowadays there are 4 brothers: Angelo, Bruno, Celestino and Valentino, all working hard to make around 200 000 bottles a year, on about 15 ha of land. The brothers all know how to make you feel at home, to sit down and go through their whole range of wines. Their kitchen is pretty good, so I recommend to stay for dinner! Riva de Milan has their own production of salami, salsiccia, lardo and cotechino.
With this Millesimato from Riva de Milan I found hints of the classic bread, pear, almonds and pepparmint in the nose, as well as on the palete. I enjoyed the elegant acidity paired with a persistant beautiful perlage. This bottle went away way to quickly!
The mouth of this bottle is one of the most robust I have seen, with around 5 mm of thickness in the glass and a slightly concave shape, that all made it a little bit different to pour from, but with practice everything goes!
