    For those who might still be unfamiliar with the celebration of Thanksgiving in the US: - traditionally it is believed to  originate from the three-day feast held by the Pilgrim settlers and by indigenous Wampanoag Indians, at Plymouth Plantation in 1621, to celebrate the first harvest, after a very difficult year on the American continent. In 1863 President Abraham Lincoln declared Thanksgiving a National Holiday, to be observed on every fourth Thursday in November.     In the boonies where I live, (the Taconic Hills near the MA border), wine choices are limited; with few exceptions, the local liquor stores offer too many low-to-medium priced bottles of slop, coming from every corner of the world, plus a smattering of overpriced bottles of the supposedly “better” stuff. Possibly because the USA is supposed to be a classless, democratic Country, you can easily find a 20 year old Château Lafite standing (yes, standing!) only inches away from a gallon jug of California “Chianti”, on the same shelf, at room temperature (varying from 50°F in Summer, to 80°F inWinter) or in the same refrigerator were prosecco, asti spumante and lambrusco (lower case intentional) are kept at 32.3°F or thereabout.     L'articolo su "Italians" è intitolato "Vino, se il nome conta più delle bollicine", 16 settembre 2010. Lo leggo e lo rileggo e c'è qualcosa che non mi va giù bene: Severgnini, contrariamente al solito, sembra trasgredire alcune delle proprie regole del P.O.R.C.O.   Tira in ballo la faccenda dei Cinesi di Prato che indubbiamente merita di essere compresa e discussa, ma con il vino ha poco a che fare   Auspica la creazione di un nome che possa contribuire a "fare concorrenza allo champagne".      Sicuramente tutti voi sapete già che Oscar Farinetti è un affarista con i baffi. Per capire quello è sufficiente informarsi un poco sul successo degli empori Eataly da lui aperti nel giro di pochi anni in Italia e Giappone.
