A winemaker passion flies abroad; will you help it take off?

Today, shortly after the fifteenth anniversary of the founding of our Winery in 1998, I am faced once more with the challenge of communicating my concept. This time, however, things are more complicated: my wines are being addressed to a wider, more demanding Market, diversified both in culture and ethnicity; one where words and images can easily assume multiple significance, thus making it harder to create a common message that will be interpreted similarly everywhere.
Crossing the national borders - thanks to the quality of my own wines and to the undeniable fascination with what the Italian artisan craftsmanship can represent – fills me with pride. However, I cannot avoid feeling also the great responsibility of communicating all this through a label effectively. Doing it in a simple manner, paradoxically, makes things rather complex.
Of course it is no secret that making things simple and universally acceptable might on be one of the most arduous intellectual tasks. In an ever-shrinking world, this onus falls upon each of us.
Without getting anyone mired into the Byzantine legislative tangle of wine labeling, allow me to submit to your attention the fruit of months of choices, rejections, sleepless nights, anxieties and thousands of corrections: here are my (possible) “Global Labels”.
Each and every opinion, be it based on personal taste, on style, on emotional or on rational preferences, will be most appreciated and held in serious consideration. I will make sure to show my personal gratitude for the most helpful comments.
Listening to and sharing opinions has always characterized my decision-making process, particularly – but not only – in matters of communications. It is in this spirit that I thank each and every one of you for the precious comments that will guide my choice of label images for the World Market in years to come.
From 1 to 8!
Ciao. And thank you!
Paolo
